The Glassworks Project, Amblecote

Following on from work carried out for Dudley Council in 2012, the council and the British Glass Foundation working in partnership wish to re-appoint the team to carry our further appraisal, governance and detailed business planning work to support their plan to move the Broadfield House Glass Museum to a site adjoining the Red House Cone, Amblecote. The commission will commence in September 2013

Bransford Trust – Worcester .... With L&R, Peter White has been appointed by the Bransford Trust to carry out a sustainability and funding appraisal of a site they have acquired in the centre of Worcester to create an Arts Quarter for the city.

National Army Museum – Round Two HLF Bid Business Plan

Working as an L&R Associate, Peter White is part of the business planning team appointed to prepare the Round 2 HLF bid for the National Army Museum’s Building for the Future project.  The business plan has to be completed for submission to HLF in December 2013. The existing site next to Chelsea Hospital in London is to be redeveloped with new galleries, learning and other facilities wrapped around a central atrium at an estimted cost of £22m.

Jewellery Quarter Project
Fresh Life Consulting is appointed by the JQDT to carry out a feasibility study to assess the sustainability of two property projects that have been offered the trust. These are in Vyse Street and Albion Street. Can these premises be re-used to creatively to not only produce a surplus for the trust but also deliver wider community benefits? Our job is to find out.

The Piece Hall, Halifax

Working with L&R Consulting as an associate, Peter White has been appointed to provide the Business Planning Role to Calderdale Council for the Piece Hall in Halifax. The council has recently secured HLF funding for a stage 2 bid to transform the building into a vibrant creative hub.

 

The capital scheme is estimated at £16m. Clearly we are delighted to have been selected following a competitive tendering exercise and are excited at the prospect of helping determine the future of this prestigious Grade I listed building, which is seen to be a major driver for the success of the town centre and of the cultural quarter in particular.

 

The Stable Block, Long Eaton Town Hall, Nottinghamshire

Working with Rodney Melville and Partners the leading conservation architects, FLC has been appointed to carry out an options appraisal for this group of listed buildings to the rear of the town hall. The study's purpose is to determine the best course of action to secure the Stable Block's future whilst making a positive contribution to the economic and social life of the area.
